At Magic Pulse, our mission has always been simple: help magicians discover more and search less.

Over the past months we've built a platform that brings together new releases, reviews, podcasts, newsletters, competitions, clubs, venues and events from across the magic community. But there has always been one thing missing.

Our own voice. That's why we're excited to introduce Magic Pulse Review.

More Than Just Another Review

There are already plenty of magic reviews online. Some focus almost entirely on the secret, others simply repeat the trailer, and many leave you wondering whether the effect is actually practical in the real world.

We wanted to do something different.

Every Magic Pulse Review is built around one simple question:

Is it a WORKER? Not whether it's clever. Not whether it's fooling. Not whether the method is ingenious. But whether it's something you'd genuinely want to carry into a real performance.

The WORKER Framework

To make every review consistent, we've created our own review framework:

W — What Is It? What do you actually receive, and does it match expectations?

O — Overview First impressions, production quality, teaching and overall concept.

R — Real-World Practicality Pocket space, reset, angles, lighting, audience management and whether it's actually practical outside the trailer.

K — Knowledge Required How difficult is it really? Who can perform it successfully?

E — Entertainer Fit Who is this designed for? Close-up, strolling, parlour, stage or hobbyists?

R — Recommendations What works well? What should you know before buying? And how could the effect fit into your own performances?

Finally, every review receives scores for:

1. Method
2. Practicality
3. Audience Reaction
4. Total value

And then comes the only question that really matters...

Is It a WORKER?

Every review ends with one of four verdicts:

🟢 WORKER – A strong recommendation. This is something we'd happily perform in the real world.

🟡 PART-TIME WORKER – A solid effect with some limitations depending on style, venue or performer.

🟠 DRAWER WORKER – Interesting ideas, but unlikely to earn a permanent place in your repertoire.

🔴 USELESS – Doesn't live up to expectations or isn't practical enough to recommend.

Magic Pulse Review is completely independent. Some products may be supplied by creators or dealers, while others are purchased by us. Regardless of how a product arrives, every review reflects our genuine opinion based on real-world performance and practical experience.

Our goal isn't to sell products. Our goal is to help magicians make better buying decisions.
