Why book this lecture

This is not just a lecture for kids performers. The goal in this lecture is to get audiences to explore the possibility that tricks that are 2D in nature have the possibility to become three dimensional in form. This can be applied to any effect! If you ever wanted to see a tiny idea get inflated and then have it explode in full blown colour in front of your audience in style - this is the lecture for you!

Inside the lecture

The Evolution of Good Kids Magic was created in 2025 for Magic Live conventions General Sessions. I wanted to take a simple close up effect from an old magic book and show through performance how it could be improved exponentially just by exploring its strengths and weaknesses. You will see a close up effect efficiently transformed firstly into a parlour sized performance and ultimately into an effect that takes over the entire room!

Why book this lecture

This lecture is designed to leave participants inspired not only to perform strong magic for family audiences, but give them the tools to do so successfully. Many who do not perform for children have said they got so much out of the lecture in terms of improving their performance. If you ever wanted to take a classic effect and completely reinvent it in ways you simply could not imagine - this is the lecture for you! I have been performing magic for children for the last 15 years and during that time I have successfully created three versions of the FizzWizzPop Magic show. During the 2020 COVID-19 Pandemic, thanks to funding from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland I created and performed twenty six differently themed magic shows online taking groups all of the world with magic. It is my passion to inspire young audiences with magic. As the first magician most children see it is my responsibility to show them what great magic can be so that when they grow up they remember that feeling they felt and they know deep down that magic is a real. I promise that this lecture will inspire performers to perform great magic!

Inside the lecture

FizzWizzPop shares what it takes to create magic that is engaging, comical and above all inspires her audiences to believe in real magic. I am often asked by children after performances - can I become magic too? In this lecture I will explore my character, FizzWizzPop’s secrets to success so that you can too can create real memorable magic for audiences everywhere. The lecture structure is very flexible and will include exploration off, time permitting, but are not limited to, these topics; - Character development - Theatrical tricks and tools - Show structure - Using storytelling to amplify magical effects - A TONNE of ideas and routines that have been tried and tested thousands of times in live performance - Audience management - The business side of show business - Up close and personal - my take on some close up effects for children (time permitting) - Passion in performance I can design a lecture that lasts 60 minutes or one that can be up to 120 minutes in length. I am happy to perform a live show for the public and then dissect the show for magicians after (which for me is where the best learning outcomes occur). I have self published two books which I sell after my lecture. Becoming FizzWizzPop which is a breakdown of how to set up a successful business and the tools required. Pop is a book filled to the brim with tricks and magic!

Nikola and FizzWizzPop are both inspirations to me. As someone who makes their living doing family shows on Disney cruise line, I can tell you first hand that anything that either one of these two ladies have to share will be hugely valuable to you and your audiences.

Many people perform magic but when I watch Nikola I genuinely feel like I’m watching a real magician.

I happened to be in Columbus for Nikola's show and had great pleasure not only watching Nikola work but seeing the faces of her audience - from kids to adults - all having an amazing time. Whether you're looking for fresh material for your children's show or just want to see an amazing performer in her element, I'd recommend this for all kids' entertainers
