Robin Deville is a French magician specializing in close-up and card magic. He discovered magic at the age of seven and quickly developed a passion for sleight of hand and performance. At 19, he joined the French National Magic Team, marking the beginning of his competitive career. In 2019, he became French Champion of Close-up Magic, establishing himself as one of the country's leading young magicians. He went on to represent France at the FISM World Championships twice (2022 and 2025), won he highest distinction in card magic at the 2024 FISM European Championships in Italy and won "THE ONE" competition at Blackpool. Today, Robin performs internationally at corporate events, private celebrations, and exclusive venues, combining technical excellence with elegant, engaging, and interactive performances that create unforgettable experiences for every audience.

Creation of a magic act

Creating a close-up act can be very challeging. What if you had a method to create your own act? This lecture will give you the tools and methods to create and improve your own magic. Robin covers all the major steps he went through in the past 8 years to create and perfect his awarded act. Where to start? What are the traps to avoid? How can we make people remember us as performers? What is originality? Along with some practical examples to fully understand the theory, all these questions will be answered!

Theory: starting point, verticalizing actions, analysis of memorable aspect of famous acts, structuring an act from storyline to technique Practice: - Sandwich chercheur : a chosen card appears magically between two kings. Then, these kings turn into two matching cards of the chosen one, and the fourth one appears in an impossible location to complete the 4 of a kind. - Stranger card: brainwave effect without a brainwave deck. No force, no gimmicked cards, everything can be examined at the end. - Coins through the table: 3 coins go through the table one by one. Borrowed coins, routine done standing up surrounded, no complicated back palming techniques, the receiving hand is shown empty before every passage. - Props : custom table, loader, servantes - COPYCAT : A la Wild, A La Mancha, A la Lavand (black art work and theory, roughing stick work, structure, working in music)
